A Scottish hat is called a Tam o’ Shanter, or “tammie.” It is a traditional cap with a pom-pom on top, often made in tartan patterns and worn as part of Scottish dress.
Wear a Scottish hat slightly to the right in the traditional style, keeping it flat and comfortable above the ears, with the pom-pom (toorie) centered. Make sure it sits evenly without tilting forward or backward.
To make a Scottish hat, start by choosing tartan, then shape it into a round, flat crown with a band around the base. Finally, attach a pom-pom or clan badge on top for traditional decoration.
