We launched Scotland Clothes in 2020 — not the easiest year to start a business. But the gap we were filling was clear. The kilts being sold online ranged from barely adequate to outright poor. Nobody was building them properly to actual measurements. We thought that was something worth fixing.
From day one, every order was custom. Your waist, your length, your tartan. No stock sizes, no guessing. The kilt built around the person wearing it. Word spread faster than we expected. In our first year, orders arrived from four continents. By 2022 we had shipped to over thirty countries.
Five years on, the scale is bigger. The tartan range now runs to over a thousand fabrics. The team has grown. The method has not changed at all. Custom made, properly fitted, shipped anywhere in the world. That was the idea in 2020 and that is still exactly what we do.
